The exhi­bi­tion Damage and LossAlter­na­tiva 2016 is dedi­ca­ted to the memory of the artist and pho­to­gra­pher Kon­rad Pustoła(1976−2015) who par­ti­ci­pa­ted and con­tri­bu­ted in many ways to a num­ber of Alter­na­tiva issues. Kon­rad Pustoła was a gra­du­ate of the Uni­ver­sity of Warsaw’s Eco­no­mics Depart­ment (2003) and the Royal Col­lege of Art in Lon­don (2008). In his pro­jects he focu­sed on exa­mi­ning the visual aspects of social and eco­no­mic rela­tions. He won the First Prize of the Polish Press Photo Com­pe­ti­tion for his Sanna series (2001). The artist par­ti­ci­pa­ted in many exhi­bi­tions, inc­lu­ding The New Docu­men­ta­li­sts (2005) at the Cen­ter for Con­tem­po­rary Art at the Ujaz­dow­ski Castle in War­saw, Blo­om­berg New Con­tem­po­ra­ries (2008) in Lon­don, Sto­ria, Memo­ria, Iden­ti­tia (2009) in Modena, and Pho­to­España (2010) in Madrid, Labour and Leisure (Alter­na­tiva 2011),  Buil­ding and Rem­nants in Guima­raes (2012), Mate­ria­lity (Alter­na­tiva 2012), andVer­na­cu­la­rity (Alter­na­tiva 2015). In 2010 he publi­shed Dar­kro­oms, an album awar­ded at The Best Art Album and Cata­lo­gue Com­pe­ti­tion Remi­ni­scen­ces.
